CIECO UK was established in 1992, since then the company has successfully conducted asset management operations and is also pursuing business development opportunities in the UKCS. In order to achieve ITOCHU's objective to increase net production, ITOCHU reorganised its E&P structure and decided to utilize CIECO UK in a distinct way.

CIECO UK has committed to:

  1. Expand its business in the UKCS by acquiring assets and/or companies to establish a firm profit basis (short term strategy)
  2. Develop its new oil & gas business in Europe, Africa, Middle East and CIS with the close cooperation with ITOCHU Corporation (Japan) and ITOCHU's worldwide offices (middle and long term strategy)

Hisamichi ImamuraPresident and CEO

Hisamichi Imamura was appointed as President and CEO of CIECO UK in April 2017.

Since he joined ITOCHU Corporation in 1986, he has 30 years’ experience in the energy industry including international petroleum trading, upstream oil and gas development and LNG projects.

Prior to his assignment to London, he was Director and General Manager, Project Department of Sakhalin Oil and Gas Development Co., Ltd. in charge of development and management of Sakhalin-1 project in Russia. 

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Hitotsubashi University, Japan.
